A delegation of eminent Malian professors, composed of: Pr. Seydou DOUMBIA, Dean of the Medical School and Dentistry (FMOS), Pr. Ilo Bella DIALL, Cardiologist and Director of Point G Hospital; and Pr. Tembely Aly DOURO, urologist surgeon, stayed from Tuesday 7 to Thursday 9 May 2019, in the United States.

This mission is part of the scientific cooperation with some American Institutes including the National Institute of Allergic and Infectious Diseases of the United States (NIAID / NIH); also, in the partnership prospects with the prestigious George Washington University – Department of Medicine. After a courtesy visit to His Excellency Mr. Mahamadou NIMAGA, Ambassador of the Republic of Mali to the United States, the delegation took part in a conference at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases of the United States (NIAID).

During this meeting, our three eminent professors advocated the consolidation of frank collaboration between the United States and Mali in the field of health and epidemiological research, particularly at the University of sciences, Technique and technology of Bamako (USTTB). For Prof. Diall, the Point G University Hospital Center remains open to all specialties, as part of this collaboration.

Thus it was a question of improving research in the field of cancer, especially urogenital cancers (prostate, kidney, bladder, etc.). The emphasis was also placed on obstetric fistula, with a view to facilitating care and even reintegration. Note that this meeting was also marked by contacts made at George Washington University.
