Dr OUMAR GUINDO is a Pharmacist (PharmD). He obtained his Pharmacy degree in 2003 from the Faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy and Dentistry of Bamako (FMPOS), Mali and his Master degree (MPH) in 2014 from the Central South University, Xiangya medical school of Changsha, China.    

From 2004 to 2010, Dr. GUINDO had worked in SEREFO/HIV/TB program, the Unit within the International Center for Excellence in Research – Mali (ICER-Mali) and mainly working as the laboratory manager before getting the cooperation scholarship between Mali and China government.

Upon his return from China in 2015, he joined UCRC team as Study coordinator and have successfully leaded from 2016 to 2017 a polio study on “Assessment of poliovirus antibody seroprevalence in polio high risk areas of west Africa” which has been published in vaccine journal. Since 2017, Dr GUINDO is coordinating the Partnership for Research on Ebola Vaccination (PREVAC) study, the phase 2 multi-centric clinical trial conducted in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Mali. Also, is the coordinator of the ECERID “Epidemiology and Clinical Characteristics of Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases.

Besides his coordinating activities, Dr. GUINDO is also an assistant Professor in Epidemiology at the Faculty of Pharmacy and involved in coaching MD/PharmD students for thesis writing and continuous training on clinical trial conduct.
